The US government has been working with the Hualapai Tribe to resolve the conflict.

Ha’Kamwe’, which in Hualapai language means “warm spring,” is a sacred site for the tribe. In 1999, the Bureau of Land Management and the Western Area Power Authority classified it as a Traditional Cultural Property eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places. Nearly two decades later, BLM approved Big Sandy Inc.’s exploration project.

The Hualapai Tribe has been actively involved in the project’s development and has expressed concerns about the potential environmental impacts of the pipeline.
