The world of drilling and boring may not be the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of a Tough Mudder challenge, but for a group of employees from Jackson Drilling near Glastonbury, it’s just another day at the office. Despite being well used to drilling through mud, they’re taking on the grueling and dirty Tough Mudder challenge this summer.
“At the glorious Badminton Estate, you’ll do more than run through a posh bit of countryside. You’ll face ice baths colder than your ex’s heart, walls taller than your ego, and mud pits so deep they’ll swallow your trainers whole,”
says the team in a statement, describing their experience at the Tough Mudder event in Badminton, South Gloucestershire. The team, consisting of four members from Jackson Drilling, Jackson Water Services, and Jackson Geo Services, will be running a 5k or 15k course, depending on their preference, with various muddy surprises and challenges along the way. They are not only training hard for the event but also raising funds for a local charity, Glastonbury and Street Bridging the Gap, a church-run charity and food bank that delivers food to those in need, especially during the current crisis.
